Building positive long-term relationships is our thing. Many marketing agencies are built on employee churn, hiring young people just out of college and quickly burning them out. We’re not that kind of agency. At PixelSpoke, a worker-owned cooperative and certified B Corp, both clients and employees tend to stick around.

Our carefully developed learning environment keeps our team members at the forefront of new technology and ideas. That means we’re constantly challenging ourselves while bringing higher value to our clients.

Our Team

We’re a high-achieving, knowledge-hungry, team-focused bunch. We’ve also been known to get a bit goofy from time to time.

Our History

Since our founding over 15 years ago, PixelSpoke has grown into a tight-knit team of 13 and has picked up quite a few awards along the way.

  • 2003

    PixelSpoke is founded as Synotac (father + son in Bulgarian and Croatian) by father-son team Bill and Cameron Madill.

  • 2005

    PixelSpoke makes its first hire and moves from a living room into a real office.

  • 2013

    We change our name from Synotac to PixelSpoke to reflect our commitment to helping clients connect with customers online.

  • 2014

    PixelSpoke becomes a B Corp, making a public commitment to its long-held belief that business can be a force for good.

  • 2015

    PixelSpoke makes an intentional shift into the credit union industry, while still maintaining our broader focus on mission-driven companies.

  • 2020

    PixelSpoke transitions from a single-member LLC to a worker-owned cooperative. Five founding team members become worker-owners.

Certified B Corp

As a B Corp, we believe that business can, and should be, a force for good. We’ve met the rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency as regulated by the nonprofit B Lab, and our mission as a B Corp informs all our business decisions.

Worker-Owned Cooperative

PixelSpoke is a worker-owned cooperative, which means we’re owned and run democratically by our worker owners. This ownership structure enables us to live our beliefs by promoting civic participation, reducing inequality, increasing employee engagement, and ensuring our long-term sustainability. Gold Certified for Sustainability at Work

We can’t say for sure, but our workplace just might be the only workplace in Portland where compost is transported by bike to an employee’s home for curbside pickup. Beyond our recycling and compost stations, motion-sensing lights, low-flow toilets, and hand dryers, we also incentivize the use of public transit, bicycles, and our two feet to commute to work. Plus, our remote-flexible environment reduces transportation needs.

Committed to Anti-Racism

Our shared passion for empathy, kindness, and creating positive change has motivated us to look deeply at our role in perpetuating systemic racism. To become anti-racist, we must make diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) a core focus in our company strategy, policies, and practices. We commit to ongoing anti-racism training for our staff, advocating for legislative change, and donating a portion of our profits to organizations that support anti-racism work.

We’ve joined TerraPass in the fight against climate change by funding projects that destroy greenhouse gases and produce renewable energy. Our low carbon footprint, coupled with the purchase of carbon offsets through TerraPass, has enabled us to reduce our carbon footprint to zero.

Committed to Financial Wellness

While dreams are universal, opportunity is not. We are committed to helping people achieve financial wellness, and to that end, we contribute 5% of all profits to Kiva to help entrepreneurs around the globe build their businesses. We are also at the forefront of supporting financial products for underserved populations, including income advance loans and immigration bond loans.
