Artists & Animals: Our First-Quarter 2021 Employee-Led Giving Program

Project Row Houses and Dar Con Amor

As part of our employee-led giving program, we are donating five percent of our Q1 profits to two organizations chosen by ‘Spokers.

Our Digital Analyst and Strategist Devin Stanfield selected Project Row Houses (PRH), a Houston-based nonprofit that aims to create social and political change by collaborating with individuals, communities, and institutions in the creation of participatory art.

Devin, who used to live in Houston, says:

“Getting to know PRH reminded me of my family’s efforts in my hometown and was one of the first places to make me feel connected to Houston.”

Founded by artist and community organizer Rick Lowe and seven other artists in 1993, PRH’s two-block campus is comprised of 22 “Shotgun Houses” originally built in the 1930s in the Historic Third Ward. The houses serve as art spaces or homes for mothers in PRH’s Young Mothers Residential Program.

Our WordPress Developer Luna selected Dar Con Amor, a foundation based in Bucaramanga, Colombia that helps find homes for stray dogs and cats and works to improve their quality of life.

Luna says:

“I love animals so much, and that is why I believe that the work of the Dar Con Amor foundation is very important in my community. One of their greatest challenges has been securing the financial resources they need to carry out their activities. I am very grateful to PixelSpoke for supporting their efforts!”

Narrated by our very own Luna, this video shares the work of the Dar Con Amor (Give With Love) foundation.
