COVID-19 Resource Pages, Branch Closure Alerts, and This Week’s Must-Reads

COVID-19 Landing Page

Now more than ever, it’s time to put the “cooperatives helping cooperatives” principle into practice. To that end, we’ll be sharing a weekly roundup that offers credit union marketing resources, inspiration from our community, client FAQs, and uplifting stories to keep us all connected during these challenging times.

What our community is up to

As many of you know, now is not the time to be silent. According to Forrester, “companies that respond to the current crisis with transparency and compassion will be rewarded by audiences.” To that end, here are some examples of comprehensive resource pages from OnPoint Community Credit Union and Peninsula Credit Union. We also like this video from Allegacy’s CEO, which offers a reassuring personal touch.

Client FAQ of the week

What is the best way to communicate information about branch closures and/or reduced branch hours to our members?

We recommend starting with your alert bar, a slide-up announcement and/or the promo area in your member login drop-down. We can work with you on page-specific alerts; we can also create a more prominent overlay that functions as a sitewide announcement, or is targeted to individual location pages.

For clients interested in learning more about these solutions, please contact your project manager.

TIP: If you’re changing branch hours, don’t forget to update them via Google My Business. Google has also announced that in the coming days, they will make it possible for businesses to easily mark themselves as “temporarily closed” using Google My Business.

Resource roundup

In addition to what we’re offering on the PixelSpoke blog, we’ve been busy combing the Internet for helpful articles and resources. Since you’re likely feeling deluged by information right now, here are three we’d recommend taking the time to read this week:

Share the good

Inspired by our client Trailhead Credit Union, we’ve begun an internal “Share the Good” email thread as a way to spread some positivity during these stressful and uncertain times. Our Operations Manager Katie Stone says, “I’ve been able to stay home with my dogs, who are both in poor health, and give them some extra love and attention.” What have been your bright spots this week?

In our hometown of Portland, Oregon, local businesses are busy spreading joy even as they contend with their own devastating losses. Without any movie showtimes to feature, Portland’s iconic Hollywood Theater is offering words of support and encouragement to passers-by:

In the midst of all the bad and ugly, we’d love to hear about the good in your own lives, at your credit union, or in your broader community. Please share by dropping me an email at cameron@pixelspoke.com.

We look forward to finding new ways to support each other in the weeks and months to come. To quote the Hollywood Theater, we will get through this!
